It isn't a stretch to see Clarkson scoring maybe 20-22 goals and perhaps 35-40 assists. With no practice time, he was in plays all night, around the net, and finding open shooters. I wish Nathan the very best, and hope he and his family stay in Columbus. He seems to genuinely like the community. But , half a loaf, in this case, is certainly better than none. If D. Clarkson only gets 12-15 and 20-25, it's still better than the double zeros currently. And he will be another legitimate threat, whatever line he is on. This is a deep draft, and there are very good players in the top 10, and it seems sure that we are going to be picking there. Top 6 would be better, and the lottery pick goes without saying. That draft position extends through the following rounds as well, and Jarmo (and Howson previously) have seem to have done a good job at identifying talent in those later rounds. Watching Oliver Bjorkstrand tearing it up in Juniors is very heartening. With Bjorkstrand, Josh Anderson, Rychal, and Dano cooking away in devlopement, the notion that you have an opportunity to load more talent into development as they depart is the kind of thing that builds organizational depth. So even if we miss out on the lottery (again), the old fashioned way should still work out pretty well for us.Galloshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06151870407426712857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796383459721793585.post-66553547728974879352015-02-16T00:09:26.442-05:002015-02-16T00:09:26.442-05:00As hard as it is to admit, I mostly agree. Tough to watch a "better" team do what it wants against us, but, there it is. My only hope now is that in the evaluation of talent, not too many "veterans" are let go in favor of the promise of "potential". Last night was not one of those times. Little to no forecheck, no real hits, and for the umpteenth time, outshot by a 2 to 1 margin (until the last coupleof minutes in the opening period. I do not see this as a coaching problem, more pf a players attitude. Several posts have asked if T Richards may be the wrong coach for this team. It looks more to me as if some playersare taking for granted that SOMEONE will get everything started, flip a switch, and all will be well. It's time to see what you're made of boys. Truth is with March and April coming, nobody is going to be looking forward to seeing the Jackets as an opponent. Get healthy, make sound moves at the trade deadline. (or no moves) And consider this a season of growth as an organization. Like the results or not, it IS a season of growth. Springfield keeps sending up players who are at least able to compete at the N H L level. Perhaps Nathan Horton is getting healthier. A great deal has been learned about the depth of the franchise. It hasn't been fun watching all the injuries pile up, but to see the young players and realize that some of them will be wearing the Union Blue sooner rather than later gives one cause for thought that this team is going to be GOOD FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!! All I ask now is to get through the rest of the season with no career -ending incidents.J F H Jacketnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796383459721793585.post-32441159844590271602015-01-30T14:59:39.093-05:002015-01-30T14:59:39.093-05:00Let's see, out shot, out face-offed, out hit, ...Let's see, out shot, out face-offed, out hit, out skated..... I guess out scored stands to reason

One has to wonder-- if it important to score and we need to score to win, why put out a 4th line with 2 skilled and dangerous forwards and a skater that has no upside, no scoring punch and no scoring interest? Seems to me it's just a disguised attempt to not get enough points to put us out of the drafting potential of a better player and perhaps set up for a trade deadline deal of clearing potential free agents while picking up draft picks. Sorry to sound so critical, but it's getting hard to stick up for the Jackets as they seem to want to self destruct, and not putting your best players on the ice is included. In all three seasons, there was a learning curve. In the strike season, a brief training camp with a new system. Last season a bevy of new players to fit in. This season, because of injury, again a group of new players to get introduced to the system. It seems as though the time for adjustment has been 15-25 games each year. This newest group is starting to play cohesively and as veterans come back, they simply add to the dynamic of the team. My rose-colored glasses( or union blue, as the case may be ) tell me that this season is far from over. Other teams have yet to have the injury bug or other roster related problems. That may be the great equalizer down the stretch. The Jackets will also start to see more of the oppositions starting goalie as things get more interesting. Any way you slice it, it should make for an enjoyable ride. C ! B ! J ! C ! B ! The reply was"out to lunch you're on your own." As far as Nick Foligno; pay him a contract that makes him happy to stay in union blue. He has become an uplifting factor both on and off the ice. An important voice in the room and on the bench. If that means a bitof sweetening to the pot, this team has certainly paid far more and gotten considerably less in the past.
