Yes. Yes! YES!!

Just got this press release from Fox Sports Ohio:

FOX SPORTS OHIO ANNOUNCES
BLUE JACKETS SLAP SHOTS
Weekly Blue Jackets highlight show premieres Monday, October 11 at 6pm

Additional Blue Jackets coverage featured on www.FOXSportsOhio.com, including
Interactive Nights, Eric Smith’s weekly podcasts and more!

COLUMBUS, OHIO – FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce a new program, Blue Jackets Slap Shots, premiering Monday, October 11 at 6pm.

This 30-minute show, hosted by FOX Sports Ohio Blue Jackets broadcaster Ray Crawford, will offer Blue Jackets fans a chance to revisit the top moments from the Blue Jackets’ previous week. Blue Jackets Slap Shots is a week-in-review show that will bring back interviews and highlights as the Jackets battle through the 2010-2011 NHL season. The show will also open up the archives to peer back at some of the moments and memories of the 10-season history of the Columbus franchise.

Following the premiere on October 11, fans can catch the show every Monday at 6pm. Replays will also run during the week surrounding Blue Jackets games.

In addition to Blue Jackets Slap Shots and the live game telecasts, FOX Sports Ohio will feature extensive coverage of the Blue Jackets on www.FOXSportsOhio.com all season long.

Blue Jackets Interactive Nights will return this season when viewers at home will have the opportunity to interact with the Blue Jackets broadcast team online. Select dates for the Interactive Nights will be announced at a later date.

FOXSportsOhio.com is also excited to welcome back Eric Smith to provide exclusive analysis of the team. Fans will be able to submit questions to Smith online via “Eric’s Mailbag.” Smith will provide his answers to five questions each week as well as offer additional insight through exclusive video, in-depth interviews, pre-game and post-game break downs and appearances on Blue Jackets Live on FOX Sports Ohio. His weekly podcast, “Fire The Cannon,” will feature interviews with management and players alike from the Jackets organization as well as hockey experts from all over.

This is the type of material that the Blue Jackets' television network needs to be producing. I've said in the past that NESN's coverage of the Boston Bruins is a model for the rest of the league...and that coverage extends beyond pregame, game and postgame coverage.

All the best to Eric Smith as well. It's good to see one of the CBJ's most dedicated bloggers take the step up to the big leagues. I'm sure you'll do great, Eric...don't forget us little guys!
