Yesterday, Raffi "Torresaurus Rex"/"Tico" Torres was traded to the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Nathan Paetsch and a second round pick. Paetsch is of specific interest to me because we will be seeing him this season, likely Saturday, as opposed to being a pick or someone playing at the college level or in the AHL. He is already in Columbus and practiced with the rest of the club this morning. He was paired with Marc Methot for most of the practice.

Some background on Paetsch, who will be wearing #4:
- Height: 6'1"
- Weight: 198
- Born: March 30, 1983 (age 26), in Leroy, SK, Canada
- Shoots: Left
- Former number: 38
- Drafted: by Buffalo in 2003, 7th round, 202nd overall
Enjoy him while you can, because he will likely be gone at the end of this season.
Yesterday I watched some videos of Paetsch on Youtube. Here are my "top" five:
#5: Paetsch versus Mike Richards, December 22, 2007
#4: Paetsch versus former Blue Jacket, Steve Goertzen, January 31, 2009
#3: Paetsch versus Mike Richards, November 11, 2006
#2: Catapulted into the boards by Avery
#1: Defending (?) against Ovechkin
I think that we will see Paetsch play during the upcoming roadtrip. It seems that Commodore will play. If he does, I think the defensive pairings will be Hejda-Commodore, Tyutin-Stralman, and Methot or Paetsch with Russell. If Commodore is out, I'd guess pairings as 8-3, 51-6, 4-10, although maybe Methot and Paetsch would switch.
Update at 4:12 PM: Mike Commodore has been activated off IR.
